Farm description

A second-generation farm established in 1992, Owen and Sina transitioned operations of Four Seasons Farm in 2012 from Owen’s family. Thriving since its beginning, the certified organic vegetable farm has been operating continuously for 22 years and provides a steady, well established, and varied supply of traditional and specialty vegetables, as well as culinary herbs, primarily to the Halifax area. Since diversifying its offering in recent years, it now also bears more than 60 fruit and nut trees as well as beautiful cut flowers. Four Seasons Farm operated a micro-cultivation license until 2023 to grow cannabis under the “Bud & Blossom” brand, including all required infrastructure to cultivate, cure and store cannabis. Growing annually, the business has fully sustained and supported farm ownership working full time year-round and a typical employee base of five, working full time from March to November. Equipped with an established customer base of more than 30 restaurants and stores in Halifax, NS, the Four Seasons Farm brand has built a solid reputation for high quality, nutrient-dense produce delivered to the culinary community, as well as individuals and families through a local farmers' market, and its 100-member CSA or vegetable box offering. Our hope is for the new owners of this property to farm organically. We have continuously made thoughtful improvements to the infrastructure here with a view to long-term organic farming, meaningful contribution to the local economy and food system, and sustainability of lifestyle for the farmers. One of only a handful of certified organic farms in Nova Scotia, Four Seasons has been responding to the growing demand for organic, fresh food in this province for 30 years. This has been and continues to be our aspiration, and the business potential in the organic sector remains strong. This property has the potential to meet many needs and fulfill a variety of aspirations and dreams.

Farm opportunity

We are selling the farm! We would consider working alongside new owners for a time to smooth the transition of ownership.
