Business Location: 2267 Antigonish Guysborough Road RR #1, St. Andrews Antigonish County, NS B0H 1X0 Work Location: Same as above Type of Employment: Full time – Seasonal Estimated Start Date: April 15, 2021 Job Description: • Spray or dust plants with insecticides and fungicides • Assist in pruning trees, shrubs and plants • Mix and prepare soils • Plant bulbs and seeds • Pot and re-pot plants • Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings • Apply fertilizers • Report signs of insect or disease damage • Dig up wrapping rootballs of trees and shrubs • Water and tend crops • Clean work area • Write daily basic progress reports • Plant, sheer, cut and bail Christmas trees • Sort crops for sale/shipping • Load trucks Requirements: -Education: Not required -Experience is an asset. Training will be provided on-site. -Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Overtime required -Personal suitability: Team player, Reliability, Organized -Work Location Information: Rural area - Outdoor work, in all weather conditions Salary: $12.55 - $13.55 hourly, 40-50 hours per week. Benefits: Accommodation provided at a discounted rate. Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate. Important Information: Work schedule will consist in a shift of 5 days between Monday to Sunday (work days vary on a rotational basis), from 6 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Flexibility on schedule will be required depending on the business’ needs. Weekend work and overtime will also be required. Seasonal position, workers are needed from April 15, 2021 until December 15, 2021.
