Overview
Update - We are currently unavailable for offers, but are keeping this profile for potential future use. Best of luck in your search! Hi, my name is Ria. I grew up in rural Northern California, spending time on my grandparent's 200 acre cattle ranch and living on off-grid homesteads with gardens, goats, chickens, etc. As an adult I've studied Permaculture design, working on Permaculture projects in California, Costa Rica and Barbados. I intend to farm with my husband, Yãm Aisner, who is a certified teacher of Permaculture design and has worked as a professional Permaculturist in the past 10 years. We are passionate about agricultural practices that support ecosystem regeneration and increase biodiversity.
Experience
I have experience as the product technician in a start-up kombucha company called 'Kombucha Culture' where we sourced most of the ingredients from an on-site certified organic farm. The company has become successful in Costa Rica. I am familiar with many plant and tree species as well as farming practices such as Biodynamic, Permaculture and traditional cattle ranching. My husband and I own a business called 'Regenerative TV', where we offer marketing, web design and video creation to support projects who are trying to make the world better. We also work as professional Permaculture designers.
Partner(s)
I will be farming with my husband Yãm Aisner (mentioned above). Yãm was raised in a self-sustaining agricultural community in Israel, known as a kibbutz. He holds a Permaculture design teaching certification and has created a successful educational program in the "Punta Mona Center for Regenerative Design and Botanical Studies", where he worked as the farm manager in Costa Rica. He has taught Permaculture to dozens of students in Costa Rica, Israel and Barbados. He also worked as the Permaculture consultant for "The Sustainability Laboratory" in an initiative to alleviate the struggles of an immigrant community in Costa Rica by supporting regenerative agricultural practices, community leadership and land sovereignty. Recently he worked as the Permaculture consultant for "Walkers Reserve" in Barbados, a regeneration project that is turning a sand quarry into a food forest, organic farm, educational site and ecological sanctuary. Yãm is studying for his Masters in Integrative Ecosocial Design with Gaia University and he holds a degree in Film and Television with high honors. Yãm has an impressive internal encyclopedia and plants and trees, and his passion for project management, systems thinking and nature blend well with his skills in technology, his ability to teach complicated things in a way that is easy to understand, and his kind and patient demeanor.
Farm Vision
We envision an abundant and biodiverse homestead farm incorporating a variety of animals and plants. We would like to develop added value products created from materials we produce. We would like to leverage our skills in marketing to increase sales of various products. Most of all we want to spend our time on this beautiful Earth regenerating the land and working with the soil, plants and animals.
Relationship with Farm Owner
We're looking for a mutually beneficial relationship with a farmer who is honest, professional and kind-hearted.
