Farm description

This approximately 65.7-acre property is located along Highway 9 in the King / Schomberg area, within an established agricultural region and in close proximity to the Holland Marsh, Bradford and surrounding farming communities. We are now looking to put the property into productive, professionally managed agricultural use and are interested in speaking with experienced farmers, growers and agricultural businesses who can evaluate the land based on its actual suitability rather than having a predetermined crop or business model imposed on them. Our objective is to establish a responsible and commercially sustainable long-term agricultural relationship. Depending on the operator and proposed use, this could include field crops, vegetables, specialty crops, herbs, nursery or seedling production, fruit or berries, ecological/regenerative production, or another suitable agricultural use. We are open to different structures, including a conventional agricultural lease, licence arrangement or a business partnership where there is a compelling reason to work together. The successful farmer should have meaningful input into how the property is used. Soil, drainage, water, access, workable acreage, crop selection, infrastructure requirements and operating economics should all be assessed before a final arrangement is established. We also have access to other Ontario agricultural properties and future opportunities, but we are deliberately starting with this property and want to establish the first operating relationship properly before discussing expansion. Our goal is simple: good land should be put to productive use by capable people under an arrangement that works for both sides. T: 416-560-3305 or email: crownmarketscape@gmail.com

Farm opportunity

We are seeking an experienced farmer, grower or agricultural business interested in additional land in the King / Schomberg area. Rather than offering a rigid one-size-fits-all arrangement, we would like prospective operators to first evaluate the property and tell us what portion of the land is realistically workable, what agricultural use is best suited to it, what infrastructure would be required, and what commercial arrangement would make sense. We are particularly interested in operators who are looking to expand an existing farm business, establish an additional production site, create a specialty or market-garden operation, grow crops for an existing customer base, or develop a longer-term agricultural project. We are open to: • a straightforward agricultural lease; • a licence or seasonal land-use arrangement; • a longer-term lease where the farmer is making meaningful investments in the property; or • a business partnership where both parties bring something material to the opportunity. We are not seeking to interfere with the farmer's day-to-day agricultural decisions. We are looking for someone with the experience to determine what actually works on the land. Initial discussions are exploratory and there is no obligation to proceed. If the property fits your operation, we can arrange a site visit and discuss acreage, term and economics. If this particular property is not suitable but you are actively looking for agricultural land, we would still be interested in connecting because additional Ontario properties may become available through our network.
