Farm description

Laughter and song echo in the evenings, intertwined with the rushing waters of Falls Creek pouring through the deep gully on the western side of the pristine 23 acres of forest that is home to Chuckleberry Community Farm. Every day, the Selkirk mountains of the West Kootenays offer a breathtaking, ever-changing Awesome View. You will find us taking in the view from the earthship rooftop deck, waking from a night under the stars. You will find us doing morning practices in the orchard, or crawling around the berry terraces to get today’s pick. Most of the time, you will find us buzzing around like bees in a beehive, creating and collaborating to steward this land and feed the surrounding communities. Even though Chuckleberry grows a wide range of nutrient-dense organic vegetables and microgreens, the community farm is designed for individual self-discovery and the unfolding of human potential. People that come through Chuckleberry have been called to participate in this dynamic and transformational environment in order to awaken to their true nature. The Chuckleberry lifestyle is set up to catalyze transformation. We provide a highly relational culture of clarity, authenticity and self-expression, based in a substance-free environment that supports spiritual practice and active self-expansion. This place is home to a culture of edgeworkers experimenting with a completely different way of being, relating to each other and relating to reality.

Farm opportunity

We are listing work exchange opportunities and two internship opportunities. Work exchangers come work with us, and learn about growing nutrient-dense organic food using permaculture principles while also experiencing our conscious lifestyle. As a work exchanger, you have access to a large variety of organic ingredients, beautiful communal accommodations, and many workshops to empower your transformational journey and self-expansion.  The paid internship opportunities that we are currently offering are: - Off-Grid Systems Maintenance Internship; and - Farming & Microgreens Business Internship.
