Farm description
Looking for a slower pace of life? We have a unique opportunity for someone who works remotely and loves the outdoors to live on a hobby farm in Bailieboro, Ontario (just 12 minutes southeast of Peterborough). Our farm started as a passion project, but life and work have kept us from giving it the love it deserves. We currently have 20 chickens, 2 goats, and a big, polar-bear-like dog.

What We’re Looking For: -Someone responsible, independent, and comfortable being on a rural property alone. -Must have farm experience (animal care, daily chores). -Bonus: handyman experience, interest in small projects or gardening knowledge. What You’ll Do: -Daily chores (feeding animals, collecting eggs, general upkeep, etc). -Maintain a presence on the property for safety and care. -Flexible opportunities for gardening or other creative projects if you enjoy them. What We Offer: -Private room in the farmhouse (or space for your trailer if you prefer). -Shared bathroom, kitchen and laundry facilities. -Fresh eggs and potential for shared meals. -High-speed internet (great for remote work). -Peaceful rural setting with river access Our farm offers a unique opportunity for independent living, self-exploration, and skill building. I live in Toronto full-time and visit the property occasionally, sometimes with my assistant. When we’re on-site, there will be opportunities for collaboration, meals and sharing ideas. Most of the time, however, this placement is largely self-directed. If you enjoy working independently, teaching yourself new skills, and taking initiative on projects, this could be a great fit. We have many ideas but limited time to execute them, so if you bring knowledge and creativity, we’re open to collaborating and finding an arrangement that works for both sides. Because the role requires a high level of trust and independence, there will be a screening process to make sure it’s the right match for everyone. Timing: As soon as possible. We’re hoping for someone who can stay for at least a year, preferably longer.
