Farm description

We grow grain (wheat, canola and oats) and hay farm. Also board, raise, train and sell horses.

Company: Nancy Lee Kruger and Paul Kruger O/A Caledonia Stables Work Location : 50142A Range Road 244A, Leduc County, AB T4X 0P3 Type of Employment: Permanent – Full-time Estimated Start Date: as soon as possible Job Description: • Monitoring animal health (especially be able to notice colic in horses) • Plant, cultivate and irrigate crops • Fertilize and spray crops • Harvest hay • Feed and tend animals • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment • Clean stables • Stone and/or wood picking • Operate tillage, baling, seeding, harvesting equipment • Harrow fields, arena, outdoor arena • General farm clean up • Farm maintenance • Repair and maintenance of fences • Maintain the landscaping • Board, care for, handle horses • Take the horses out to pasture and return them to the stables • Groom horses, tack horses • Blanket and put boots on horses Requirements: - Education: Not required - Experience: Experience is an asset - Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling - Personal Suitability: Organized, Effective interpersonal skills, Flexibility, Judgement, Team player - Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Hot, Cold/refrigerated Salary: $22.00 hourly, 40-44 Hours per week Benefits: Accommodation available at a discounted rate. Important Information: Work schedule: From 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Five days per week and two days off. Each employee takes a turn starting at 7:00 AM one day a week for feeding. Position requires flexibility on schedule as it is extended for the seeding and harvesting period.
