Farm description
Before I purchased it a year and a half ago, this farm had horses, chickens and sheep. I'd like to use the fenced in areas to grow vegetables, herbs and maybe cut flowers as well as have chickens for eggs. In addition to outbuildings for tools and equipment there is a stable and a chicken coop. There are is room for a hoop house and/or greenhouse and around 2 acres of arable land. There are about 5 acres of forest with trails and a beautiful renovated farmhouse. The property is 1.5 hours from the GTA. Due to my current circumstances - I'm a solo parent to a 12 yo and 7 yo caring for an aging parent - I'm unable to establish the farm as originally planned. My dream is to have a community hub for social justice and healing centred on the land. In the future I anticipate moving back to the area (not necessarily the house) and to partner with others (e.g. the folks who helped establish the farm) to continue the farm operation and potentially offer educational and/or healing opportunities.
Farm opportunity
The opportunity is for folks interested in organic/ecological farming to lease the 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom farmhouse and establish the farm. I am open to a longterm lease of up to 10 years if there is a good match.
