Type of Employment: Full time – Permanent Estimated Start Date: As soon as possible Job Description: - Bottle feeding calves - Scraping manure mats - Bedding cattle - Assuring cattle are fed - Pushing up feed - Assisting with sorting, tagging cattle - Cleaning, pressure washing calf penning - Handling animals - Monitoring animal health - Monitor the calving process - Perform general farm duties Requirements: - Education: Not required - Experience: Experience is an asset. On the job training will be provided - Driver’s license is an asset - Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Combination of standing and walking, Standing for extended periods, Ability to work independently, Hand-eye coordination - Personal suitability: Flexibility, Efficient interpersonal skills, Organized Team player. - Work site environment: Odours, Dairy, Livestock, Dirty. - Language: Basic English is required. Salary: $17.60 hourly, 30 – 39.5 hours per week Benefits: Parking available, Staff accommodation provided at a discounted rate. Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate. Transportation to and from the work location provided. Important Information: The employee will work 6 days per week from 6:00 am to 10:00 am and from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Flexibility on schedule is required as some days will start earlier and others finish later depending on the business needs and weather. The candidates will have 1 unpaid food break of 30 minutes and 1 paid healthy break of 15 minutes. We guarantee at least 30 hours of work per week regardless of the weather.
