Farm description

This is a complete farm in the city, yet surrounded by conservation area wetland and forest, with river access. Since the 1950's it has been rented to farmers by the National Capital Commission (https://ncc-ccn.gc.ca/places/agriculture-in-the-greenbelt). In 2019 our team of 3 partners and 2 staff provided an organic vegetable CSA to over 150 weekly clients, and we have a farm store as well. This farm, now known as BeetBox Co-op Farm, has been organic or biodynamic for at least 15 years, and was formerly known as Riverglen Farm. We would like there to be more farming happening, hopefully of a variety of types, in order to make better use of the land!

Farm opportunity

This opportunity is available only for a very limited time, but has so much potential! I'm looking for at least one individual, preferably more, who are willing to figure out, together with me, how to make this farm viable! I have experience, community support, lots of equipment and infrastructure and customers, new tile drainage, but we need more people to share the responsibility of managing the property and growing and/or diversifying the farming operations in order to make ends meet. Timeline: -I would like to have a partnership MOU in place by mid-February 2020. -We need to at least tweak (or at most revamp) and commit to the farm business plan together by the end of March 2020. -This business plan's farming operations could possibly commence in spring 2020, but would more likely start fall 2020.
