Farm description

The Spring Valley Guest Ranch was established in Sept. 1988. Over the past 31 years I have operated a tearoom in the main house from 1988 - 1998. I built two log buildings in 1996 and 1997 to house a craft shop, more lodgings and a saloon for hosting weddings, family and class reunions, workshops, retreats and dances. In 2006 I moved a church onto the property for hosting larger events, musical concerts and dinner theater. I have always had a passion for rare and heritage breeds of poultry and livestock. I currently have a herd of dairy cows of mixed breeds. I made hard and soft cheeses from 2010 - 2013. I also do upholstery repair and make costumes in one of the log buildings. I can accommodate up to 22 people in the house and log cabin. The ranch consists of 320 acres with 180 acres of hay land and 140 acres of pasture with a creek running through it and with ample natural tree shelter. I am nearing retirement and I would like to pass the ranch on to someone or some couple who might share similar management skills and objectives, have a similar work ethic plus have a mutual respect for the land, environment, animals and other human beings.

Farm opportunity

The range of possibilities for this property are numerous. Gardening vegetables, herbs and fruits could be enhanced with irrigation. Cheese making and selling dairy products could be revisited. The promotion of retreats and workshops could be increased.
