Farm description
The total property size is 56 acres. Located in Trent Hills, ON. 2 hours from Toronto, ON. Travel north from Hwy 401 at Brighton (Exit 509) on Highway 30/50 to 14th Line E. Head west on 14th Line E. Entrance at 44.399892, -77.801935 Water sources available: A small area can be excavated to drain and store water for further use. There is a ditch running along 14th Line E, which can be pumped for water. We expect the farmer to practice sustainable practices, including crop rotation, and invest in drainage work.
Farm opportunity
We seek a responsible, experienced farming operator to work 45 acres of tillable farmland on a long-term lease basis. Treelines surround the farmland. The trees must not be harvested. Lease as price per acre or the entire area. In addition, a cooperative farming arrangement with a discount is available if the tenant can improve the fertility and drainage of the land. Some areas need drainage. Currently being farmed. The Maximilian Family Fund owns the land, which runs the St Maximilian Retreat close to the property.
