Farm description
I own a 10 acre property in the Almaguin Highlands. There is approximately 1 acre of land that I would love to see turned into a not for profit program called The Wildflower School of Life for people struggling with their mental health and overcoming addiction. It would be a place where they can come and help take an overgrown plot of land and turn it into a profitable farm of some sort. Here is a description of my vision: At the Wildflower School of Life, we believe in the power of community and becoming by belonging. Our therapeutic model is based on successful programs from all over the world, where the path to healing lies in connecting individuals with shared life experiences to a supportive community within a horticultural environment. The Wildflower School of Life will create opportunities for our service users — known as 'gardeners' — to rediscover their identities and celebrate their strengths as they embark on their own unique journey of healing and personal growth.
Farm opportunity
To get something like this off the ground it will take a village. I need help with all of it, I know nothing about farming. This would be an ideal opportunity for someone who is looking for some life purpose, is willing to think outside the box and help me get this vision off the ground which may include grant writing. It would be especially helpful if you had knowledge of therapeutic techniques to help rebuild self esteem, etc. There is a small apartment in the barn that you could live in for the season. Here is a link to my website that I have created as a vision board: https://saramooreco.wixsite.com/wildflower.
