Overview
We are a married couple in our 30s with practical farming experience, both trained in Ecology, who plan to have our own farm in the next 5-10 years. We want an opportunity to be involved in the daily running and business aspect of a working agricultural farm. Andrew grew up on a farm in Ontario, and has worked for 8 years at a native plant nursery and seed farm, harvesting wild seeds, managing native seed crops, and working on native restoration projects. His work includes operating and maintaining combines, tractors, sprayers, planters and other agricultural implements. Andrew has specialized experience in raising native seed crops from wild collections for native species of trees, forbs and grasses of Ontario. Kati has a degree in Conservation Ecology and is an enthusiastic gardener, with experience raising chickens, including incubating eggs and raising healthy birds. She is especially interested in food preservation and wild foraging to ensure access to grown or collected food throughout the year. She enjoys working with all animals, and is open to learning a variety of farming practices. Andrew and Kati together have produced maple syrup for the past three years, and are interested in continuing syrup production as part of the farm share. We both share an interest in ecology and have experience with alternative land use practices, and bird, bat, and amphibian surveys.

Farm Vision
We are interested in participating in any and all aspects of your farm operation, including helping you start from scratch. We are looking for a farm that embraces alternative land use with forested land available for native collection and maple syrup production. We are open to growing any crops, working with most livestock, and creating a mentorship or business partnership with our future farmshare partners.
