Chris

Hello! I, Chris am currently in New Brunswick- Burtt's Corner area, and leaving a career after 22 years... Samantha is my partner, and a passionate Cook/Baker with 15 years experience. Chris graduated from post-secondary with a Masters' degree with a focus on the rights of Indigenous Self-Government. You will find us both handy, passionate about nature and growing food, and energetic learners. Chris is currently halfway through- the Market Garden (biointensive/ small scale farming in Quebec). Samantha, who is also interested in learning and growing as a market gardener for subsistance living as well. She brings her expansive, unique skill set of kitchen, bakery, sales and merchandising experience, along with a strong connection to growing and the land. We will most likely would be willing to trade our/individual labour for learning and some fresh farm produce. We would like to live off our own land at some point, but appreciate being humble learners to grow from our intermediate skill set. Other then reading about bio-intensive farming, our experience is small backyard gardens and handy work to keep the house up and running. Chris likes fiddling with engines and mechanical work. Chris was a landscaper for 7 years during university- installed in-ground pools, decking, tending to garden beds, spraying chemical, tilling, planting, etc. We come with some of our own carpentry tools- ask please. We hope to find a farm to learn and be a part of a team. We like to work and see progress our efforts. We hope to find a mentor/internship position, or at lease position from a friendly Farmer. Our end goal of hopefully buying our own farmland to subsistence grow, with possibly enough for a CSA program with a permanent house and property is in our future.
