I finished my BFA, painting thesis, on the preservation of pollinators and jumped into corporate sales to support my dreams, paintings and now beekeeping. I would like to step away from the desk and push towards Beekeeping, push towards sustainability. This page is in progress. https://www.instagram.com/r.elorabotanical/ As an out-going artist and organized team player, I will bring creative solutions, hard work, and patience/diligence to the team. The weather doesnt scare me, I love to hike in all conditions and can be found carrying all my gear through the backcountry of Algonquin when I go on my 70km adventure through the woods and lakes! Are you looking for a hard working, fun, helping hand? Please reach out to me :)
Partner(s)
Once I learn the way of the land through mentor-ship and hands on experience, the next steps will be to have a farm of my own. My goal is to have an Apiary for the bees and land to plant for them and other important pollinators. From there we will also grow trees and move into tree farming as well. My boyfriend is well equipped in machine operating experience and currently works at a transfer-station. He is reliable help with those particular duties involving equipment. This just means I have backup, I am open to learn everything there is so I can confidently have a farm on my own one day.
Farm Vision
Once I learn the way of the land through mentor-ship and hands on experience, the next steps will be to have a farm of my own. My goal is to have an Apiary for the bees and land to plant an explosion of native pollinating foliage for them and other important pollinators. I hope to attract other pollinators like butterflies and help breed them. From there we will also grow trees and move into tree farming as well.
Relationship with Farm Owner
I am looking to learn the way of the land. From sun up and beyond sun down, come rain or shine, our land is alive for us-- we are here to take care of her, the land. I am looking for mentor-ship, possibly any paid or volunteer positions where I can gain hands-on experience with day-to-day chores and tasks for your farm. I would like to have a farm of my own one day with the bees and trees. If you are interested in having bees on your farm, it would be a great opportunity for me to start beekeeping and purchase the bees and equipment. I would continue to help with farm tasks and learn the land as well as attend to bees. I have the protective gear, tools and unique resources to yeild honey and care for the bees. This would be my first time beekeeping and I am very confident in my ability to perform and learn with them as I have the certifications from the Ontario Beekeeping Association and I am actively online and in books learning. 30% of the world’s most common food crops require honeybee pollination-services. As a natural beekeeper, learning the land and the behavior of the bees is very important to me. If bees are not your thing, that is completely fine and we don't have to have them, just my hard-working reliable, fun self, ready for knowledge.
