Overview

I am an experienced business owner, domestic and exotic animal trainer, educator, and animal-assisted therapist with a passion for ethical and science-based training methods, focusing on social cognitive learning theory. With a strong background in applied human sciences and psychology, I am dedicated to fostering meaningful connections between animals and people, whether through hands-on training, therapeutic interventions (no riding), or educational programs. I am seeking an opportunity to integrate these skills into a horse farm setting, creating a space where horses and humans thrive together.

Experience

Growing up in Goose Bay, Labrador, and spending summers on my grandmother’s farm, in Quebec, instilled in me a deep connection to the land and the animals. My journey with horses began in childhood, riding regularly and developing a deep respect for these intelligent animals. During adolescence, I worked at a stable, gaining first-hand experience in daily horse care and learning the responsibilities of animal husbandry. Since 2010, I have expanded this foundation into my professional career as an animal trainer, with a focus on groundwork and the subtle communication between humans and horses. This combination of early riding experience, practical stable work, and nearly two decades of professional training equips me with the knowledge, empathy, and technical skills to deliver meaningful and effective Equid Assisted Learning sessions. These skills bring a unique perspective, emphasizing the harmony between nature, animals, and human well-being.

Farm Vision

My Equid Assisted Learning (EAL) program is a unique project designed to foster personal growth, resilience, and connection through guided interactions with horses. Rooted in the principles of experiential education and animal-assisted learning, this program offers participants the opportunity to develop critical life skills such as communication, problem-solving, emotional regulation, and leadership. Unlike traditional classroom or counselling settings, Equid Assisted Learning takes place in an outdoor farm environment where horses serve as responsive, non-judgmental partners. Horses reflect human emotions and behaviours in the moment, providing immediate feedback that helps participants increase self-awareness and build healthier patterns of interaction. My program is open to teens, young adults, and families seeking to strengthen their confidence, relationships, and emotional well-being. I am a graduated facilitstor from Concordia University, and my sessions blend psychology, animal behaviour, and education to create a safe, supportive, and empowering experience. Through the EAL program, I aim to bridge the gap between people and animals, showcasing the transformative role horses play in human development. Relationship with Farm Owner

I am seeking a partner who shares my passion for thinking outside the box, and who is eager to co-create a space where education, horse therapy, and experiential learning converge in a groundbreaking way. My program is more than just a conventional idea; it is a movement toward deeper self-awareness, emotional healing, and a renewed appreciation for the natural world.
