Overview

I am looking for an opportunity for my family (partner, 3 kids and adoptive grand-pa) and I to live on a farm. This could be short term (such as farm sitting) or long term. I am especially interested in animals (all animals, but particularly horses), but also love gardening. I am trained as a midwife with a specialty in botanical medicine. I therefore have a special interest in botanical medicine for the perinatal period and female health. My ideal scenario would be a long term lease/partnership with option to buy the land. I would love to manage/build an equestrian center/boarding facility with a small hobby farm (vegetable garden, berries, chickens, ducks, etc). My partner owns a construction business and would love a place that would permit him to have a shop on the property. He would be able to help with any buildings upgrades that might be needed to the land. Ideal location would be within 45 minutes of Vancouver.

Experience

Growing up, my parents owned the second house on a horse farm. The owner raised Canadian horses and Cows as well as Chantecler chicken. Though experiential learning, I was introduced to all aspects of this type of farming. As a teenager, I volunteered on a farm which raised sheep, cows, pigs and chicken for meat. They also had large gardens and participated in the farmers markets. I participated in all aspects of the farm production including growing the hay and working in the butcher shop.

Farm Vision

My ideal scenario would be a long term lease/partnership with option to buy the land. Relationship with Farm Owner

I'm open to a lease, partnership or a mentorship and an already existing business. I would love the opportunity to eventually buy out the land.
