Overview
I’m currently enrolled in the Civil Engineering Bridge Program between St. Lawrence College and Queen’s University. Throughout my life, I’ve been deeply involved in the farming industry, with over 10 years of hands-on experience in the field. I was raised in a farming environment, and it’s something I truly love. To stay connected to the industry, I’ve focused on exporting bovine genetics from Canada to South America. My family and I also operate a business in Colombia, which includes a network of family-run farms. We are now looking to establish a vertically integrated operation that brings together our experience in genetics, farming, and food production.
Experience
In addition to my formal education in civil engineering and my current bridge program between St. Lawrence College and Queen’s University, I bring over a decade of hands-on experience in the farming industry. I was raised in a farming environment and have remained actively involved in agriculture throughout my life. Professionally, I’ve led agricultural and agri-food businesses, including the management of export operations for bovine genetics from Canada to South America. I also co-manage a network of family farms in Colombia that integrate cattle, food production, and land stewardship. This background gives me a solid foundation in farm operations, international trade, livestock genetics, and business development—key strengths I aim to bring into a vertically integrated farm enterprise here in Canada.
Partner(s)
I will be leading the farm operation but will be working closely with both local and international collaborators. My core team includes experienced agricultural professionals based in Colombia, South America, with whom I’ve successfully managed farm operations and bovine genetics export programs for several years. This international partnership allows me to establish a year-round operation by leveraging seasonal differences, knowledge exchange, and continuous coordination between Canada and Colombia. Locally, I also plan to build a support network to manage daily activities, ensuring that the operation is well-integrated, sustainable, and scalable over time.
Farm Vision
Our vision is to establish a small-scale, genetics-focused cattle operation that supports sustainable agriculture and international collaboration. By combining Canadian expertise with our established South American network, we aim to build a year-round donor cattle program specializing in high-quality bovine genetics for export. Our goal is to operate respectfully within existing land uses, contribute to the local agricultural economy, and promote innovation in livestock management through a vertically integrated approach.
Relationship with Farm Owner
I’m looking to develop a collaborative and respectful relationship with a farm owner; one based on open communication, mutual benefit, and a shared interest in sustainable land use. My goal is to establish a small-scale donor cattle operation that can integrate seamlessly with the farm’s existing activities or other operations already in place. Rather than simply renting land, I’m interested in exploring a partnership where we can align goals and possibly create value together. I bring experience in international agricultural business, livestock genetics, and long-term planning, and I am open to developing a business model that works for both parties. Whether through a formal agreement or a flexible working arrangement, I aim to build trust and contribute positively to the farm’s overall environment.
