Hi, my name is Laura. Farming and sharing my love for farming with others has become my passion over the last few years. I'm hoping to find a space to start my own small scale mixed ecological or organic vegetable operation on in the Kitchener-Waterloo region. Any and all opportunities are welcome!


I'm a first generation farmer, which means I've had to figure a lot out on my own and through work experience. I started my journey at UBC Farm where I participated in their on-farm practicum and was exposed a running vegetable farm operation as well as an education on a variety of topics that contribute to the success of running a farm, from soil health to business planning. From there I've worked for the last 5 years and found my way my way up to a field manager position at a very successful restaurant-focused vegetable operation where I've had amazing mentorship for the last three years. I've been able to expand my day-to-day skills as well as my management approach and back-end knowledge. I believe that with my hard work, hands on learning and my love of both farming and planning I'll be able to start my own successful space, I'm just in need of the right opportunity.


I would prefer to start my business alone but I'm also open to collaboration.

Farm Vision

An intensive ecological vegetable operation, starting small on around 1/2 acre and scaling up as the business allows it. I would love to continue to provide restaurants with beautiful vegetables, as well as the Kitchener-Waterloo community.

Relationship with Farm Owner

I'm open to collaboration. I would love to be a low maintenance land tender with space to do my own thing within whatever our understanding would be. I'm open to chat and figure out if we have mutual goals for your space.
