Overview

Family oriented, mature, hard working farmer looking for somewhere to build his dream farm!

Experience

Five years experience designing, building, and operating an aquaponics growing system within a 375 sqft controlled environment greenhouse. We raised rainbow trout and grew a wide variety of vegetables, herbs, and leafy greens. http://gbaquaponics.com Seasonal farm labour experience on a variety of types of farms in Ontario and BC between 1989 to 1999. Post-secondary education in business, and 9 years work experience in accounting and general management. Roughly 30 years of backyard vegetable garden success. ;-)

Partner(s)

Primarily I would be farming alone, or hiring temporary help as needed. If we find ourselves in a live-in situation my family could help out as needed. Our family size is 2 adults and 4 kids that would need accommodation.

Farm Vision

Looking for land to build and operate our commercial aquaponics farm, which will include a 10,000 sqft greenhouse. Although not essential, we would also like to have a sizable, soil-based market garden along side of the greenhouse if possible, to supplement the greenhouse grown produce. This would be for field crops such as corn and sprawling crops such as squash, and possibly even fruit trees or berries if space is available (again, not essential).

Relationship with Farm Owner

Our basic needs are for use of land to build our aquaponic farm, whether it be leasing, buying, lease-to-own, farm share, partnership in our business, or whatever works... anything is negotiable. Additionally, we would also be open to a situation that involves me working on your farm or operating your farm for you, in exchange for sharing use of your land. This could potentially involve a live-in situation for me and my family if the home and location are suitable. As mentioned anything is negotiable, so let's talk about how I can be of benefit to you, and I am confident that we can come up with a situation that would be profitable for us both!
