I am a computer engineer by education, but my roots are deeply connected to agriculture. I come from an agricultural family and have always been passionate about farming and natural growing practices. While I pursued a career in technology, my interest in agriculture remained strong, and I now aim to combine both knowledge areas to build a modern, sustainable farming business. My goal is to bring innovation and eco-friendly methods—like cocopeat-based cultivation—into practice, while continuing the values and traditions I learned from my farming background.

Experience

I come from an agricultural family and have over five years of hands-on experience in farming in India. My background includes managing small-scale agricultural operations, crop maintenance, soil preparation, irrigation, and natural farming techniques. I am particularly interested in sustainable and innovative farming practices, such as the use of cocopeat and organic methods for soil enrichment and moisture retention. My strong work ethic, deep-rooted knowledge in agriculture, and passion for learning new technologies make me a valuable contributor to any agri-based enterprise. I am currently exploring opportunities to apply my skills in Canada, with a focus on crop production, storage, and distribution.

Partner(s)

1. I will be farming in partnership with a colleague who brings over 10 years of experience in the agricultural field. He holds a degree in Agriculture from an Agricultural University and is currently pursuing a PhD with a specialization in Microbiology. He has been working on cocopeat production and application in India for many years and continues to run a successful cocopeat project there. His deep academic knowledge and practical experience in sustainable farming and soil sciences are key strengths for our joint agricultural venture in Canada. Together, we aim to apply innovative and eco-friendly farming techniques, particularly focusing on cocopeat-based solutions for crop growth and distribution. 2. My son, Divijj Kumar ( DJ) is also part of the team. He has completed his MBA and is passionate about agriculture and entrepreneurship. He brings fresh energy and strong management skills to the project. He is especially interested in helping build and grow the cocopeat distribution side of the business. Together, we form a well-rounded team with a balance of academic knowledge, practical farming experience, and business acumen.

Farm Vision

My vision is to establish a sustainable and eco-friendly agricultural enterprise in Canada, with a focus on cocopeat-based farming and distribution. I aim to introduce natural and innovative growing methods that improve soil health, reduce water usage, and support local food production. By combining traditional agricultural knowledge with modern techniques, my goal is to create a productive, environmentally responsible farming model that contributes to the local economy and community.

Relationship with Farm Owner

We are looking to develop a long-term, respectful, and cooperative relationship with the farm owner. Our aim is to care for and maintain the land as if it were our own, using sustainable and responsible farming methods. We believe in open communication, honesty, and mutual benefit. As we are in the early stage of establishing our agricultural business in Canada, we are hoping to find a farm owner who understands the challenges of start-up farming. We are looking for a supportive partnership that includes a reasonable or lower lease cost during the initial “settling-in” period. This would greatly help us focus on setting up operations, building our distribution, and gradually becoming self-sustaining. We are committed to maintaining the land well, paying agreed rent on time, and building a trustworthy relationship over the long term.
