Overview

I was born and raised in rural hills of Nepal in an agrarian community. In Ontario, I have been growing a particular kind of Nepali hot peppers since last year and have been a serious backyard vegetable grower for 5 years. I am seeking 1 acre of land for ecological farming. I am interested in growing hot peppers for my new business venture Lawoti Sauce Co. www.lawoti.com. I want to grow hot peppers in a quarter of an acre and do crop rotation with squash, allium and beans to support the hot peppers in remaining three-quarter of the acre.

Experience

I am one of the proprietors of Nepali Momo that offers Nepali style dumplings. We were part of Withrow Farmers market, Cabbagetown Farmers' Market and The MET Farmers's Market in Toronto. At Nepali Momo I oversee communication, marketing and finance. For the business, we grow some of our own chives, onions and garlic during growing season. I will bring these experiences in running my farm.

Partner(s)

I hope to farm alone for now, but would like to build a community if space allows.

Farm Vision

I plan to grow Dalle cherry peppers (Nepali cousin of Habanero) to make achar (South Asian hot sauce) for my business venture Lawoti Sauce Co. I will grow other vegetable such as squash, alliums and beans for crop rotation to support the growing of the cherry peppers.

Relationship with Farm Owner

I would love to work next to an experience farmer to learn and grow.
